Blast Furnace Composition

The blast furnace is divided into a furnace throat, a furnace body, a furnace waist, a belly, a hearth bottom, an iron tap, and a blast furnace tap.

The blast furnace throat is usually made of excellent clay bricks or high density high alumina bricks.

Clay bricks and castables can be used as linings for large and medium sized blast furnaces, or SiC bricks

Lining protection tube, straight blow tube and medium gas lift pipe are lined and repaired with spray paint

The furnace body is composed of low porosity clay bricks and high alumina bricks.

Silicon nitride and silicon carbide bricks for the waist of 1000m3 or more

Sic brick is used for the waist of the blast furnace below 1000m3

China's general use of silicon carbide bricks

Germany generally uses semi-graphite bricks, fused corundum bricks, mullite bricks, direct bonded or silicon nitride bonded silicon carbide bricks.

Dutch semi-graphite brick

European and American blast furnaces use silicon carbide bricks and graphite bricks

Hearth furnace bottom China, Japan, Russia mostly use carbon brick, aluminum silicate refractory brick, clay brick and other comprehensive furnace bottom

The United States uses a full carbon brick bottom

Blast Furnace Iron Drainage Main groove uses corundum silicon carbide carbon material ramming material.

Hot-water bauxite is made of high-alumina bauxite clinker silicon carbide carbon-based material
Clay bricks are generally used when the air temperature is lower than 900 degrees.

When the wind temperature is higher than 900 degrees, the lining and checker bricks in the high temperature part are made of high alumina brick, mullite brick, sillimanite brick and silica brick.

The smelting reduction furnace includes a prereduction furnace and a final reduction furnace
Pre-reduction furnace Commonly used clay bricks, high-aluminum bricks have high requirements for peeling, abrasion resistance and impact resistance.

Final reduction furnace Aluminium carbon brick, high alumina brick, carbon brick, aluminum silicon carbide carbon brick are used for the equipment adopting the converter and the electric furnace.

Converters Oxygen converter linings are mostly made of carbon-containing alkaline refractories, magnesia bricks, magnesia carbon bricks, and immersion bricks.

Electric furnace, furnace cover, high alumina brick (general aluminum content above 70), alkaline brick, castable and ramming material.

Furnace wall, magnesia brick, magnesia brick, magnesia carbon brick

Magnesium Ramming or Castable

Cast iron tank Magnesium, high alumina, carbon or silicon carbide material, can be brick or masonry

Furnace Refining Furnace

AOD furnace uses magnesia brick, refractory concrete ramming material

The ladle used in the VOD furnace, the lining except the slag line area is mainly made of ordinary magnesia brick, zircon brick and high alumina brick.

Magnesia or clay bricks for permanent lining; magnesium ramming at the bottom of the ladle and the side wall

Ladle furnaces use magnesia bricks, magnesia chrome bricks, magnesia carbon bricks and high alumina bricks, high alumina castables and spray coatings

RH uses high alumina bricks, magnesia bricks, magnesia bricks, and ramming and castables

DH furnace adopts direct combination, electrofusion and recombination and semi-recombination of magnesia-aluminum chrome brick, or use of magnesium silicon carbide brick, magnesium carbide silicon carbide brick, nozzle and other parts with high aluminum or corundum castable and beating Magnesium chrome ramming material

Steel drum vacuum arc heating degassing furnace VAD uses magnesia brick, magnesia carbon brick, high alumina brick

The LF furnace uses magnesia carbon bricks and does not burn high alumina bricks.
