Buying Guide for Refractory Materials for Walking Beam Reheating Furnace

As one of the heat treatment furnaces in the rolling mill, how to select the refractory materials for the heating furnace? In response to the doubts of purchasers, the editor will introduce the selection guide for the refractory materials for the soaking furnace in detail for reference only. If you need help with selection, please contact our online customer service.

The heating furnace is composed of furnace top, furnace wall, furnace bottom and heat exchange device. The working environment of the soaking furnace lining plays a decisive role in the selection of refractory materials. The environment is as follows:

① Long-term exposure to high temperature;
②Withstand the effects of steel ingot wear and collision of the loader clamp;
③The furnace cover is often opened and closed, and the furnace lining is subjected to rapid cold and rapid heat.
According to the above conditions, the refractories for walking beam heating furnaces need to have good high-temperature spalling resistance and huge heat resistance, which can increase the life of the furnace lining and ensure the long-term stable operation of the heating furnace. While improving the operating environment temperature in the heating furnace area, the furnace wall temperature can be made to comply with national standards.

The main types include clay bricks, high alumina bricks and refractory castables, which are used for soaking furnace lining; and the working layer of the furnace bottom and the bottom of the furnace wall generally uses high alumina bricks and clay bricks.

 At present, refractories for soaking furnaces have also been expanded to unshaped refractories or prefabricated blocks. Most of the furnace top uses dense high-strength castables and fiber castables, while the furnace wall castables use dense high-strength castables, light clay bricks, thermal insulation boards, and aluminum silicate fiber thermal insulation boards.
