Refractory for Lining of Aluminium and Aluminium Alloy Melting Furnaces
Metal aluminum and aluminum alloy are strong reducing agents at high temperature. Although the melting temperature is not high (furnace temperature does not exceed 850 C), the viscosity of molten aluminum is very low, and it has strong wetting and penetration to the lining refractory material. sex. Therefore, high thermal shock resistance and anti-aluminum penetration resistance are required for the lining refractory. At present, the main refractory materials for the furnace lining are:
(1) Casting or wet ramming high-alumina and mullite linings generally have a long construction and baking cycle, require continuous work, and have a good use effect, and their service life is generally more than one year.
(2) Composite lining: that is, the hot surface is made of pre-fired crucible or furnace tile, the coil is protected by insulating cement, and the middle is filled with dry refractory materials that resist penetration and prevent leakage. Use effect is better.
(3) Quartz, mullite, corundum and other dry ramming materials are the most widely used lining materials for aluminum melting furnaces. Although the service life is not as good as the first two materials, they are stable in use.
