Iron Ldle Castable Characteristics and Ladle Repair

Iron ladle castable uses high alumina materials as the primary raw material and refractory cement as the binder for the amorphous refractory materials. It is widely used in melt operation package, flow tank and work lining of various kiln, etc. It has high strength and refractoriness, and has excellent functions of impact resistance, corrosion resistance, penetration resistance and wear resistance. It has long service life, convenient construction and easy repair. It is suitable for all types of ladle.

The basic characteristic of the ladle castable is that the operating temperature is generally not more than 1400 ° C, but the service life requires more than 900 furnaces. Therefore, it is necessary to have a high strength, a good flushing resistance, and an excellent thermal shock resistance. Participate in a certain amount of silicon carbide, which can improve the wear resistance, anti-scour ability, and restore some low-melting substances.

Refractory Material Selection Requirements

 
(1) Refractory material has a high service life. Compared with the brick lining, the castable is required to have higher density and strength, and the overall quality is better, which can better resist the scouring and corrosion of high-temperature molten iron and slag.
 
(2) Excellent construction function. The pouring time is required to be easy to handle, and the construction requirements of different seasons can be satisfied, and the vibration fluidity is better.
 
(3) Compared with refractory bricks, it can satisfy the requirements of fast baking and has a high cost-performance ratio.

The refractory castable for ladle is primarily concerned with the erosion of molten iron and the reduction of the temperature drop of molten iron. The specially developed castables are all cast, the temperature is not shortened under the temperature, the strength is high, the heat preservation is good, the temperature drop of the molten iron is small, the slag is less in the mouth, and it is easy to be finished after hanging the slag, and has excellent resistance to hot metal corrosion and permeability. Therefore, several basic requirements are set for the ladle castable:
 
1. the amount of water does not exceed 5.3%
 
2. the number of thermal shocks more than 35 times
 
3. After burning, the line changes by 0.3% to 0.8, and the reheating line changes by 0 to 0.2%.
 
Iron Ldle Cstable Physical and Chemical Goals
 
Because the temperature of molten iron is as high as 1200 ° C ~ 1400 ° C, and the molten iron is poured into the ladle, it has a greater impact on the bottom of the package. Therefore, the refractory requirements for the ladle lining are severe, and the quality of the ladle repair is severe. If the corrosion resistance and impact resistance of the ladle are not satisfactory, it is easy to form a safety incident such as a ladle.
 
After the ladle is applied, part of the lining is corroded and damaged, and it is usually repaired before it can be used again. Because the density of molten iron is large, it is simply soaked into the cracks and cracks of refractory bricks. In addition, it is subjected to the thermal effect, chemical effect and the scouring effect of molten iron, which accelerates the damage of the lining. The light ladle cannot be used continuously. Burn through the outer shell of the ladle to create personal or property damage. Therefore, it is necessary to pay attention to the quality when repairing the iron lining. Large-capacity slings, after a period of use, should be overhauled regularly.
 
There are many varieties of ladle, and there are commonly used hand bags, lifting bags, hanging bags, etc., which are used for pouring molten iron. There are also some special-purpose ladle bags, such as ladle for handling ductile iron, rocking bag for desulfurization of molten iron, and bottom bag for handling molten iron pouring.
 
Iron Ladle Repair Introduction
 
When the lining damage is severe or the hard data layer is used for too long, the strength is reduced, the data becomes slack, and the repair cannot be applied continuously, the package lining data is completely removed, and the new lining data is replaced and rebuild.
 
(1) Overhaul Operation Process of Refractory Lining
 
1) Remove the old lining. When the bag lining is completed by repairing the material, the lining operation is the same as lifting the bag, and only the steel lining is used to remove the lining. When the outer layer of the liner is brickwork, the carbon material layer should be removed first, and the refractory brick lining should be removed. The detailed operation method is carried out according to the operation procedure of the furnace mentioned in the "Overhaul of the cupola".
 
2) Check whether the cladding and rolling parts are not normal. If there is any problem, it should be dealt with in time before repairing.
 
3) Brush the muddy water on the inner wall of the cladding.
 
4) Masonry refractory bricks. For the detailed operation, refer to the topic "Overhaul of the cupola" in the overhauling process of the front furnace.
 
5) Repair refractory hard mud. The detailed operation is the same as the daily repair method of the hanging bag liner described above, and will not be repeated here.
 
6) After properly baking with a slight fire or after natural boring, the enamel layer is sturdy, leaving no cracks and repairing the mouth.
 
7) Brush the paint. The operation method is the same as the daily repair.
 
(2)  Iron Furnace Repairing Operation Precautions 
 
1) Large capacity ladle, the thickness of the lining is very large, do not finish the repair at one time, you can repair it in several times.
 
2) The thickness of the lining should be uniform, and the scale after each repair should not be shaken too much, otherwise it will affect the accuracy of the molten iron capacity, and then affect the estimation of the pre-furnace work and the share of the ferroalloy participation.
 
3) The degree of muddy water should be appropriate. The muddy water should be brushed first when repairing each layer to prevent the falling layer from falling during use.
 
4) Strictly grasp the manufacturing share of carbon materials. Too much refractory mud, lining easy to stick slag, when slag operation, simply damage the lining and the mouth, the refractory mud will reduce the strength of the lining and shorten the service life.
 
5) Carefully repair the mouthpiece as required to make it firm, lubricated and conform to the requirements.
 
6) The repaired ladle should be carefully checked according to the specified scale to prevent the capacity from being shaken too much. The amount of tape available when viewing, or you can view it with a template.
 
7) In the process of repairing the lining of the package, it is necessary to pay attention to grasp the heat, and avoid using the fire to quickly bake, otherwise the lining will be severely cracked, which will affect the repair effect.
