The Difference Between Heavy Refractory Bricks and Light Refractory Bricks
Heavy-duty refractory bricks are high-temperature and wear-resistant refractory materials. They are used at high temperatures and are mostly used as the working layer or permanent layer of industrial furnaces to prevent high-temperature solutions from causing damage to the kiln body and to protect the insulation layer materials. Lightweight refractory bricks are heat-insulating bricks. They are used at low temperatures and are mostly used as insulation materials for kiln or thermal equipment to reduce heat loss and save energy consumption.
Heavy High Alumina Brick and Light High Alumina Brick
Grade 1 high alumina brick,
high alumina refractory brick with aluminum content greater than 75%.
Light high alumina brick is also called high alumina poly light brick or high alumina light brick.
(1) The production process is different. Heavy high alumina brick uses high alumina bauxite clinker as the main raw refractory material, soft clay and waste pulp and paper as the binding agent, and is formed by high pressure molding, drying and high temperature firing. Light high-alumina bricks are made by mixing high-alumina bauxite clinker with clay binder and foaming agent, casting, and firing at high temperature. They are all sintered refractory bricks, one using high pressure forming and one using casting.
(2) Bulk density is different. The bulk density of
heavy high alumina brick is 2.3 ~ 2.65g / cm3, the bulk density is dense, the porosity is low, less than 23%; the bulk density of light high alumina brick is 0.6-1.5g / cm3, the bulk density is small, and the porosity The height is more than 45%.
(3) The refractory temperature is different. The refractory temperature of heavy high alumina brick is about 1580 ~ 1790 degrees, and the high temperature resistance is good. The use temperature of light high alumina brick is about 1350 ~ 1500 degrees.
(4) Different parts are used. The refractory temperature of heavy high-alumina bricks is in the part where slag or solution is in contact, the porosity is low, and the permeability resistance is strong. Light high-aluminum bricks have low operating temperature, high porosity, can not be in contact with flames or solutions, slag easily damages the masonry by penetrating the interior of the brick, and is mostly used for thermal insulation materials.
