Al2O-SiO2 Series Refractory Material Composition

Al2Oz SiO2 refractory materials mainly include three types: siliceous, aluminum silicate, and corundum.Silica refractories refer to refractories containing more than 93% SiO2, and are the main varieties of acid refractories.
 
The products are fired silica bricks, and there are also scattered silica refractories.

Silica bricks are mainly composed of tridymite, cristobalite, residual quartz and glass phases. Using silica as raw material, it is prepared during manufacturing a small amount of lime and iron scale are added to the material as a mineralizer to promote the conversion of quartz in the body into tridymite. Silica brick is an acid refractory material,it has strong resistance to acid slag, its high temperature strength is good, and its softening temperature under load is close to its refractoriness, generally 1620~ 1660C, has the advantage of not deforming under high temperature for long-term use. Silica brick generally has no crystal transformation and linear expansion above 600C.The coefficient is also small, and the thermal shock resistance is also better; while below 600C, the opposite is true.
 
It is mainly used for building coke ovens, and also used for the vaults and other load-bearing parts of thermal kilns of various glass, ceramics and refractory materials. It is also used in the high-temperature load-bearing parts of hot blast stoves. It should not be below 600C and the temperature fluctuates. Used in large thermal equipment.
 
The main components of aluminum silicate refractories are Al:O, and SiO2, and also contain a small amount of impurity components that act as fluxes, such as TiO2, Fe:O3, CaO, MgO, R2O, etc. Usually according to Al, O, the content is divided into semi-silica (Al2O, 15%~30%), clay (Al2O, 30%~48%), high alumina (Al20,>48%) three types.
